Misinformation and Digital Platforms: What do we know and what can we do?

Program Description: This talk highlighted examples of the flow of misinformation in digital platforms, highlighting some of the challenges and solutions. We discussed several topics including ways in how mis/disinformation spreads, the consequences of exposure to such false information, why people believe in misinformation, and what can we do to combat misinformation. The talk covered AI’s role in spreading as well as combatting misinformation.

The event was held on Thursday, November 13 @ 6:00pm at Neill Public Library. It was also offered via Zoom, and was recorded.
