Challenges Facing Local Newspapers

Program Description:
Mark Bryan, director of circulation at the Lewiston Tribune/Daily News, will join a Feb. 21 ZOOM discussion of the challenges local news media face now and in the future. The noon-1 p.m. program is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Pullman as the organization studies the impact of local and regional news decline.
Bryan joined the company eight years ago. His responsibilities include overseeing marketing and delivery of newspapers in printed and online formats, along with supervising customer service for subscribers.
He previously served as publisher of Juneau’s Capital City Weekly and Juneau Empire, a daily newspaper in Alaska.
Bryan has also worked in newspaper positions including as publisher of the Newport News-Times in Newport, Ore.; circulation director of the Longview Daily News in Longview, Wash.; circulation director of the Tribune Eagle in Cheyenne, Wyo.; and circulation operations manager at the Lewiston Tribune.
